WIDGETS |
The Analysis area helps you analyze data from social networks and displays widgets based on posts in search topics. The widgets then display the analysis in easy-to-understand formats such as bar charts, simple curves, and percentages. Learn how to navigate the Analysis area.
You can still filter the displayed data to perform more detailed and focused analysis, or use the dataset for other areas of Social Engagement. If no posts are available or match the filters, the widgets do not display a metric but an error message.
Social Engagement widgets provide you with in-depth search functionality to narrow your data set. Click on a data point to view the data in more detail.
Use Analysis Widgets to:
Define a dataset to display on widgets
Widgets display data based on a defined data set by selecting a search topic or category and using filters. These filters include locations, keywords, mood values, and other items you choose based on your business requirements.
Any user of your organization's Social Engagement solution can create data sets. However, only the Administrator and Senior Analyst can create new search topics.
Showing the value of a tendency
Many widgets support displaying Tendency values. The value of tendency gives you a quick insight into the tendencies of posts in different social dimensions. The tendency symbol is facing up, down, or flat, indicating increasing, decreasing, or uniform values of the tendencies.
When you select a time frame in the filter section, the average number of posts in the past is compared to the number of posts in the current time frame. The tendency value is then calculated based on the difference.
Timeframe selected Number of similar timeframes in the past to calculate a tendency
- 1 day or less 5
- 2 to 7 days 3
- 8 days or more 1
For example, if you select the option last week (seven days) as a time frame, the tendency value is calculated by comparing the three weeks before the last week with the last week.
Export widget data
Create visualizations and process data the way you like best by exporting data points from widgets and lists to an Excel workbook. You will find the resulting Excel file in the downloads folder in your browser
The exported Excel file contains two tables:
Information table: lists the configuration at the time the data is exported.
Data Table: Contains data points and metrics used for exported data.
To export widget data
In the widget, select the action icon in the widget (the Action widget symbol).
In the list of actions, select Export Download Data to Excel
Extending the widget to full view
Some widgets (for example, author widget) display a limited number of items by default. If available, you can expand these widgets to full view to see more items in the list.
To expand the widget
In the widget, select the action icon in the widget (the Action widget symbol).
In the list of actions, select the Expand to full view option Expand to full view symbol.
Switching the widget to a table view
All widgets can be displayed in spreadsheet mode. You can also set the table view as the default value for all you see by updating the Preferences setting.
